LIFELONG PARTNERSHIPS NEAR AND FAR

Commitment to grow diverse spend, specifically MWBE spend, 3% each year
Accommodation of diverse & religious dietary needs (Halal, Kosher and other)
Support development and training of management and associates
Support the culture assimilation of University faculty and staff

Objectives:

•Offer new hire lunch-and-learn sessions for new university members to learn about the dining program and how they can access the locations through a payroll deduction meal plan. At these sessions, faculty and staff will be given:
– 5 complimentary meals to try out the various dining locations
– An opportunity to enter a drawing for a seat at a quarterly faculty/staff farm-to-table dinner

ELON DINING ONGOING TRAINING AND SUPPORT

Develop a diversity, equity and inclusion dining council, for associates and students, to support a more diverse and inclusive community
Assign annual DE&I training requirements for all managers
Host Annual Years of Service Celebration Dinner
Host bi-annual Guest Service Associate Training and Welcome Back (Fall/Spring)
Supervisor Training Program
Hold monthly manager meeting with leadership training component, information sessions or engagement opportunity
Partner with LGBTQIA+ Center to provide Ally training to the dining team on an annual basis
Align and partner with the Office of Exclusive Excellence:

Elon Dining Associate Support & Training

Objectives:

•Tap into the University training resources with courses like preventing harassment and discrimination and the DEI
Development Network
•Rouxbe culinary training program – 5 enrolled today and commit to enroll 2-3 culinarians each year
•Focus on high potential associates to promote into management. Most recently we have promoted 5 associates
into management over the last 2 years
•Implement local associate survey to benchmark satisfaction year over year starting in May 2023
•Host employee roundtable dinners
– Monthly employee roundtable dinners held with Elon Dining Directors
– First dinner attendees are selected by the Elon Dining Directors for being outstanding associates
– Those first dinner attendees then pay it forward by nominating the next month’s attendees
•Promote Elon Dining Employee Wellbeing
– Employee Health Engagement Calendar to include PAUSE Briefs and Appreciation days
